Just Good Bread

Every loaf is made by hand in small batches in a local South Bay kitchen.

Our flour is always organic, unbleached, and unenriched to make sure every loaf is as wholesome as it is delicious. No unnecessary additives or preservatives.

Organic, Unbleached Flour

Each loaf is crafted in a kitchen that only uses non-toxic materials such as wood, stainless steel, glass, and non-toxic cleaning ingredients. Everything is as natural as possible, with minimal use of food-grade plastic.

Locally Sourced

Our sourdough is created with flour sourced from local Californian suppliers, and is purer than anything you can find in local grocery stores.

I’m Stephanie

& I like bread

In 2023, I went on a gut-health journey and decided I wanted to cut unnecessary sugars, dyes, additives, and ingredients I literally couldn’t pronounce out of my diet. With some effort, this was achievable, but I struggled to find a good bread during my weekly grocery shopping.

I decided to challenge myself to learn how to make sourdough. I love sourdough for a few reasons: it’s easier to digest than regular bread because of its lower gluten content, and with its low glycemic index, it has less of an impact on blood sugar. Plus, it’s full of fiber and prebiotics that help support healthy gut bacteria.

I quickly fell in love with making sourdough and I wanted an excuse to bake more loaves than my husband and I could possibly eat. So, in November 2024, I got my cottage-foods license and opened South Bay Sourdough. I’m so proud to be baking and selling my bread out of my tiny kitchen, and I can’t wait for you to try it.

With loave,

Stephanie
